Coconut Citrus Nature’s Gatorade

I had to put my own spin on the viral nature’s gatorade trend, and oh my gosh I’m here to report that this recipe truly lives up to the hype! My coconut citrus nature’s gatorade features coconut water, freshly squeezed orange and lime juice, an electrolyte packet (my go-to is LMNT), and is garnished with fresh citrus and mint. It’s bright, refreshing and better than any store-bought gatorade.

Ingredients You Need
Coconut Citrus Flavor
- Coconut water: Coconut water adds great flavor and amazing hydrating properties.
- Electrolyte powder: I used citrus salt LMNT, but feel free to use your favorite electrolyte powder.
- Sumo oranges: Freshly juiced oranges work best! I love love love sumo oranges, but any variety of orange will work if it’s not sumo season.
- Lime: Freshly juiced lime works best!
- Mint: I love garnishing my nature’s gatorade with fresh mint.
Blue Raspberry Limeade Flavor
- Coconut water: Coconut water adds great flavor and amazing hydrating properties.
- Electrolyte powder: I used citrus salt LMNT, but feel free to use your favorite electrolyte powder.
- Fresh blueberries and fresh raspberries: You’ll muddle the blueberries and raspberries to infuse all the sweetness into your nature’s gatorade.
- Lime: Freshly juiced lime works best!

Coconut Citrus Flavor
- ▢ 1 cup coconut water
- ▢ 1 electrolyte powder packet , I used LMNT
- ▢ 2 large sumo oranges* , juiced
- ▢ 1/2 large lime , juiced
- ▢ Mint , for garnish
Blue Raspberry Limeade Flavor
- ▢ 2 cups coconut water , divided
- ▢ 1 electrolyte packet , I used LMNT
- ▢ ¼ cup fresh blueberries
- ▢ ¼ cup fresh raspberries
- ▢ ¼ cup fresh lime juice
Instructions
Coconut Citrus
- Whisk electrolyte packet into coconut water. Set aside.
- Juice oranges and lime. Set aside.
- Fill 2 glasses with ice and pour electrolyte coconut water mixture over the ice. Top with citrus juice. Garnish with fresh lime and sliced citrus.
Blue Raspberry Limeade
- Add 1 cup of coconut water, electrolyte packet, blueberries and raspberries to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Sieve juice into a glass and set aside.
- Pour remaining coconut water and lime juice into another glass.
- Fill 2 glasses with ice and pour sieved juice. Top with coconut water and lime juice mixture. Garnish with fresh lime.
